De la „automatele” homerice la inteligența artificială. Schița unei genealogii
The aim of the present study is to trace how the fascination about automation has arisen in the history of Western thought since the archaic period of Greek thinking. In order to achieve this aim, we will determine the genealogical context in which the myths and philosophical ideas concerning ancient automata were formed starting from the Homeric texts, and we will highlight the points of continuity and discontinuity between these myths or ideas and the whole “mythology” formed around contemporary artificial intelligence. Following the path of ancient thought, we will show that the idea of artificial intelligence developed in an artistic conceptual context and that the contemporary scientific vision of artificial intelligence stems from a de-naturation of mathematical logos in the context of the emergence of modern computers, which have taken over more and more of man’s spiritual tasks.
