Titlu: Timpul și ipostazele sale. Note despre temporalitatea sufletului și fenomenul para-ipostazierii la Porfir
Abstract: This study aims at elucidating the idea of para-hypostatization of time in the context of the neoplatonic philosophy, starting from Proclus’s work Sententiae ad intelligibilia ducentes, the context in which the term παρυπόστασις is first attested in the history of Ancient Greek philosophy. In order to reach this goal, we must rethink the idea of transcendence (τὸ ἐπέκεινα) starting from it’s temporal meaning, which could be spotted as early as the platonic dialogue The Republic, and start thinking time as a side-effect of human’s imperfect ontological structure and of the hypostatization of the supreme ideas of Good, One and Beauty by the different cognitive faculties of the soul (intellect, imagination or sensitivity). Thus, the soul, in its activity, gives birth to a whole series of entities, which reflect the ineffability and non-beingness of the One, and, in parallel, to a whole series of hypostases of time, each corresponding to the use of a faculty of the soul. By taking these theses to their extreme consequences, one can redefine the concepts of “truth” and “falsity” starting from the correct or incorrect attitude of the human soul towards the different hypostases of time that are specific to the different cognitive faculties of the human soul.
